I’m Liam Kane an executive coach based in Northumberland. 



Whilst my background is in banking, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to helping other people (especially leaders) succeed and fulfil their ambition and potential.

Since leaving the banking sector in 2021, I’ve established myself as a coach to business leaders and professionals across the Northeast of England. 

The business is called Out of Office Coaching for a reason..


..and that’s because I’m an advocate of coaching away from the normal working environment. 


My client base stretches from Northumberland to County Durham, but … there is a nuance to where I work with clients. 


Some of my most impactful coaching sessions have involved walks in the countryside and along the beautiful coastline of Northumberland and North Tyneside. 

When you’re outside, distractions are positive, the views can be uplifting and you’re inspired by nature. Movement aids the cognitive process and being shoulder to shoulder brings a more collegiate dynamic to the coaching conversation. All of this and you’re getting some great exercise too!

Why me?

I offer a combination of business experience, coaching expertise and a passion for what I do. I genuinely care about who I work with and what they want and need from the coaching relationship.

Just getting thoughts out of your head and into a conversation can be liberating and enlightening. As one of my clients told me after our first session together “I’ve been thinking about those things for months, but it sounded completely different when we actually talked about it. “

When is the right time?


I work with clients at every stage of their career journey. One way to describe when the time is right to work with a coach would probably be when you’ve got things you want or need to talk about, but haven’t got the right person to listen.

Leadership is the single most important dynamic affecting the performance of a business – by definition, leaders are critically important. If a leader can improve their capability, even a little, that contributes positively to their business, their colleagues, their family and ultimately themselves.

So, alongside Executive Coaching, I work with leaders – both experienced and aspiring – to develop the all-important leadership skills required to help their business thrive.

INVEST IN YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM


Working with Management Teams to help them build more effective relationships with one another. 

I use an Emotional Intelligence Model called DiSC to facilitate this bespoke development. DiSC not only supports the team’s development, but also provides individuals with the opportunity to build better relationships with virtually every person in their life.

Imagine a team that not only recognised their respective different behavioural styles, but actually celebrated and harnessed them … that’s a high performing team right there.

JOIN A PEER ADVISORY BOARD


The fourth element, which I offer through The Alternative Board (TAB), is facilitation of Peer Advisory Boards.

This involves small groups of like-minded, non-competing business leaders working together, on their businesses, to support one another and work out optimal solutions to business challenges and opportunities. In a nutshell, they make better quality decisions, faster, and are held accountable for implementation and execution.

There’s a saying, “The view from the top is short-lived, so enjoy the climb”. Well I do enjoy that metaphorical climb with my clients and seeing them grow as people, and as leaders, is the most rewarding part of my role.
